Terms of use
What this site is, what it is not, and the rules for using it.

Who these terms are between
These terms apply between you, the visitor, and [Operator — pending operator details], the sole trader established in Malta who operates RentIsle (“we”, “us”). Our full details are on the imprint. By using the site you accept these terms; if you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
These terms cover your use of this website only. They do not cover any booking, rental or payment you make with a rental company or booking platform — those are governed by that company’s own terms, which you should read before you book.
Our role: a publisher, not a rental company
We compare and explain car hire. We do not rent cars, and we are never a party to your rental.
RentIsle is an intermediary information service and advertising publisher. We publish profiles of rental companies, price snapshots, rankings and guides, and we link to booking partners and to companies’ own websites. That is the whole of what we do.
We are not a car rental company, a broker, a travel agent or anyone’s agent. We do not own or supply vehicles, take or confirm bookings, process payments, hold deposits, or issue rental agreements. When you book, the contract is between you and the rental company (or the booking platform, under its terms). We are not a party to that contract, we receive no part of your payment, and we cannot cancel, amend or refund a booking.
Questions, complaints and claims about a booking — a charge, a deposit, damage, a vehicle, a pickup — go to the company you contracted with. We are glad to hear about your experience, because it informs what we write, but we cannot act on your behalf.
Prices, availability and information
Every price on this site is indicative: a snapshot we captured from a partner’s results on the date shown beside it, for the period and inclusions stated. We show total prices including the mandatory charges visible at capture, but prices and availability change constantly, and the only binding figure is the one the partner or rental company confirms at booking. We do not guarantee that any price or vehicle is still available.
Company profiles — deposit, excess, fuel policy, minimum age, opening hours, ferry policy — are compiled from public sources where the company publishes them, and shown with the date each fact was captured. A field we have not been able to source is left blank rather than estimated. Rental companies change their policies without telling us. Check the terms with the company or partner before you book, and treat what we publish as a starting point, not a promise.
Third-party ratings are relayed from the named source with a capture date; we do not verify individual reviews. How rankings and scores are built, and what never influences them, is set out on how we rank.
Affiliate links and commissions
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you book through one, the partner pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. Which links, which partners, and how to tell them apart are explained on our disclosure page. Commissions never influence how a company is scored or ordered; they only determine which partner a “book via” button links to.
Insurance and excess products
We are not an insurance intermediary and hold no insurance-distribution authorisation. We do not sell, arrange, advise on or recommend any insurance or excess-cover product — including the excess-reduction, “full coverage” or damage-waiver options that rental companies and booking platforms offer at checkout. Where a guide explains what an excess is or what the options are, it is general information written to help you understand a rental agreement, not a recommendation to buy anything. Read the terms of any cover with its provider.
Using the site
You may use the site for your own, non-commercial purpose of finding and understanding car hire in Malta and Gozo. You may quote short passages with a link back to the page. You may not copy the site or substantial parts of it, scrape or bulk-download its data, republish our profiles, snapshots or guides, or use automated tools in a way that burdens the service or its host.
The text, structure, scoring and original graphics on this site belong to us. Rental company names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the companies we write about; nothing here implies that any company endorses RentIsle.
Third-party sites
We link to booking partners, rental companies, public sources and other sites. Those sites are not ours: we do not control their content, availability, prices, terms or privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. The search button and the “Book via” links on company profiles open the partner or company in a new tab, so that it is clear when you have left RentIsle; other links may open in the same tab.
Liability
We work hard to keep the site accurate and dated, but it is provided “as is” and free of charge. To the fullest extent Maltese law allows, we make no warranty that the site or its content is complete, accurate, up to date or uninterrupted, and we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or your reliance on it — including loss arising from a booking, a price that differed at checkout, a policy that had changed, or the acts or omissions of any rental company, booking partner or other third party.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Maltese law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
Changes to the site and to these terms
We may change, add or remove any part of the site at any time, and we may suspend or close it. We may also update these terms; the “Last reviewed” date at the top shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute about them or about the site, are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction. If you live in another EU country as a consumer, you keep the protection of any mandatory rules of your own country’s law and the right to bring a claim there.
If you have a complaint about the site itself, write to hello@rentisle.com and we will try to resolve it directly. Complaints about a booking or a rental go to the company you booked with.
