Built around how Malta actually rents.
Every operator
International chains and Maltese family garages, held to the same checks and listed side by side.
Honest comparison
Ranked on published excess, fuel policy and minimum age — never on what a booking pays us. Where an operator publishes no policy, we leave it blank rather than guess.

Left-hand driving, the Gozo ferry, and where the airport desks actually are.

Tell us where and when. One form covers every rental company we track across Malta and Gozo.
Compare on facts
Whatever each operator publishes — deposit, excess, fuel policy, minimum age, review scores — carrying the date we captured it, and blank where they publish nothing. The ranking is commission-blind.
Book with the partner
We hand you over in a new tab with your dates already filled in. The price and the booking are theirs, not ours.
Drive away
Your rental agreement is with the company you chose. From there we stay out of the way.
Pick the car for the road.
Malta’s roads are narrow, with frequent roundabouts and left-hand driving. The class you book matters more here than it does at home.
Economy
The smallest class on most fleets, and the one Malta's narrow roads were built for.

Gozo is a ferry ride from Malta’s north-west tip — with a hire car, or with one you pick up on the other side.

- Mġarr, GozoAbout a 25-minute crossing. No booking — drive up and queue.
The car fare is typically paid on the return leg only. Most Malta operators allow their cars on the crossing, but it is set per operator — confirm yours before you book, or hire from a Gozo garage instead.
Airport pickup, explained.
The desks at Malta International are not where most people expect them.

Land at Malta International
Almost every rental company at MLA funnels into a single building — and it is not the terminal you walk out of.
Exit on level -1
From arrivals, leave the terminal via level -1 and turn right.
Walk about three minutes
The desks are in the Park East building rather than the main terminal. It is roughly a three-minute walk.
Park East, Level 1
Concessionaires must staff their desks at least eight hours a day. That is a floor, not round-the-clock cover — check your company's hours before you fly.
Not every company staffs a desk: OK Mobility runs a shuttle instead, and several local operators deliver to your hotel or meet you in the car park. If your pickup is not a Park East desk, get the meeting point confirmed before you land. Compare car hire at Malta Airport (MLA), or read the full walk-through.
